Keeper of Time: Summer 2022 - Winter 2023

PROGRAMMER / TECHNICAL ARTIST

Explore the Age of Fire and platform through a tropical-themed world plagued by time rifts. Collect Time Gears and restore order to the island, jumping and blasting your way to success!

Tower of Time is a 3D Platformer developed as GDIM Capstone Project

  • Polished the overall game experience by developing 4 custom shaders, implementing post processing effects in cutscenes, and integrating dynamic dialogue systems.

  • Communicated with a team of 20+ members to coordinate work priority across multiple varied departments.

  • Implemented core game mechanics such as platforming, camera control, scene transitions, and storytelling.

KURU: Spring 2024 - Summer 2024

GAMEPLAY PROGRAMMER / TOOLS ENGINEER

Help Kuru go home by scaling up a mountain!
However, Kuru is a bit of a neat freak, so he can't leave until he cleans up everything along the way! Help reorganize mats and bookshelves in a teahouse, fish, and koi in a pond, and much more! Bring Kuru back to his family in this relaxing puzzle game.

KURU is a 2D Puzzle Game developed as an indie game under Solbreak Studios

  • Developed engine tools to automate the level creation process of 115 unique levels by parsing CSV files and interfacing with the Unity engine editor API.

  • Created core systems, including level completion detection driven by graph traversal and unique level mechanics created through polymorphism.

  • Utilized the Steamworks API to upload live builds and integrate gameplay achievements.

Edo Edo Teishoku: Summer 2023 - Spring 2024

TEAM LEAD / GAMEPLAY ENGINEER

Play as one of several elite chefs and travel through the mysterious (and delicious!) island of Alyukaneet. Battle delectable food-themed monsters and bosses in a 2D Card Based Roguelike to secure a cook off with the legendary chef, Edo Mame. Explore a world bursting with flavor and hone your cookware as you mince, mash, slice, and dice your way to victory. Customize your playstyle and dig into the adventure that awaits!

Edo Edo Teishoku is a 2D Roguelike Card Game developed as GDIM Capstone Project

  • Planned system designs using UML Diagrams to reduce collaborative conflicts and clarify class relationships.

  • Engineered a modular framework for attacks and effects, enabling creation of 70+ distinct cards and 20+ enemies by employing polymorphic scriptable objects.

  • Created a framework for a randomized node-based map to minimize scene overhead and allow for customizable and modular loading of scene information.

  • Led a team of 38 members on a project lasting 9 months. Responsible for scope management, meeting arrangements, quality assurance, and resolving conflicts.

Help! The stars are out of whack and are itching for a fight! Take control of 1 of the zodiac symbols and zodi-wreck the competition. With characters ranging from Capricorn to Cancer, shoot, punch, and careen your way through the competition! Tussle with tarot cards, selecting a variety of power up to bolster your brawl!

Astral Onslaught is an Online 2D Party Fighter created as a UCI VGDC Pitch Project

  • Architected network code to enable online multiplayer and minimize dependencies and overhead.

  • Designed classes and data structures to streamline backend combat

  • Leveraged existing engine tools to expedite production

  • Balanced a wide roster of characters with vastly different abilities

  • Created designer friendly systems and tools to assist character balancing and implementation

Isabel: Winter 2022 - Spring 2022

GAMEPLAY PROGRAMMER

The world has been overrun by an unending horde of demons. The angels up in Heaven refuse to step down to help from their lofty perches up above, for it would mean losing their wings. All, except one.

Play as Isabel as she descends upon the demon hordes, guns blazing with her holy wrath!

Isabel is a 2D Top Down Shooter created as a UCI VGDC Pitch Project

  • Programmed movement, combat systems, enemy generation, skill tree, talents, and UI

  • Collaborated with other departments to integrate assets and other code

  • Designed the elite forms of enemies and implemented them

  • Balanced the different weapons, abilities, and talents

  • Collected playtesting data to fix and improve gameplay

A meddlesome robot has taken the last flower on the planet and you need to get it back! Blast, hover and careen your way through the skies as you climb through the trash-filled wasteland inspired by Disney Pixar's Wall-E. Along the way, traverses through hazards and bound through power-ups on your quest to get the last flower back! Get the best time and compete with friends through our online leaderboard!

Wall-B is a 2D Rage Platformer created as a part of the EGD x SGDA Spring Game Jam 2023

  • Enhanced gameplay experience with various animations, VFX, and mechanics

  • Streamlined programming workflow to meet tight deadlines

  • Coordinated with a small team to reduce production conflicts
